What should I do if I lose a receipt?

Updated on

For projects that are being fiscally sponsored by ioby, you are required to upload receipts for your project’s expenses. If you’ve lost or didn’t receive a receipt that you need to upload for ioby’s reporting, there are a couple of options you can use:

If your purchase was made on a credit or debit card, upload a single image of the transaction showing:

  1. the vendor
  2. the purchase date
  3. what the purchase was for
  4. the purchase amount

This information should fit in one image and should be uploaded as one receipt. In most cases, you’ll be able to take a screenshot from your card’s account statement.

If you made a purchase with cash, or if no other record of the transaction can be obtained, you can create a receipt. Upload a photo of a single piece of paper that includes:

  1. the vendor
  2. the purchase date
  3. what the purchase was for
  4. the purchase amount
  5. your signature

The easiest way to do this will be to simply handwrite the information on a piece of paper, sign it, and upload it as one receipt.

For instructions on submitting your project receipts, please see this article or this video walkthough.
