If I donate to my campaign on behalf of others, will it be matched?

Updated on

Yes, you can donate funds to your ioby campaign on behalf of others who have given you cash.

To submit those cash donations to your ioby fundraiser:

1) Keep track of the names, emails, and donation amounts.

2) Deposit the cash into your own bank account.

3) Go to ioby.org and: Log out of your own ioby account. This is at the top right in the red circle:

4) Then go to your ioby fundraising page.

5) Enter the amount of money that you have in your own bank from cash donations. You are donating from your own card to your ioby page after someone gave you cash to deposit.

6) Use the original donor's name and email address.

7) Do not click the Anonymous option. ioby match programs require a clear record that you are donating money that someone else handed to you and that person's name and email is recorded on this donation.

If you submit your own name and email on multiple donations, even on behalf of others, you will trigger the per-donor limit for matching funds. Some of your donations may not be matched.

Below: Make sure that it's asking for the email address.

That's how to double-check that you are logged out of your own account so you can enter the name and email of the cash donor.

If it's not asking you for an email address, then the donation will be logged under your account. Matching funds may be removed for the multiple donations under your own account.
